Rickman Day will return to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum on Sunday, June 14, as the museum hosts a special celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the legendary Rickman marque.

Taking place from 10am to 4pm, the event is being organised by the Rickman family and friends, with support from the museum team, and will celebrate the engineering, innovation and racing heritage of the Rickman brand.

More than 100 Rickman motorcycles are already registered to attend, with over 30 due to take part in demonstrations around the museum circuit. The demonstrations will give visitors the chance to both see and hear the machines in action.

Motorcycles displayed within the courtyard will be eligible for judging, with trophies awarded throughout the day. Don Rickman will also be in attendance to meet enthusiasts and personally congratulate the prize winners.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy Sammy’s popular workshop tours, where he will focus on several of his current restoration projects and offer insight into the craftsmanship behind them.

Renowned engineer and motorcycle creator Allen Millyard has also promised to join the celebrations and will be bringing along his extraordinary V-Twin Velocette.

Adding further excitement to the day, Sammy will be firing up his 1929 AJS Record Breaker replica. The original machine became famous in 1931 at Arpajon, France, when Captain Oliver Baldwin achieved 138mph in one direction before engine seizure prevented completion of the return run.

With free parking, refreshments available throughout the day, and the museum’s craft and gift shops open, Rickman Day promises to be a major celebration of British motorcycling heritage for enthusiasts, families and visitors alike.
