Bonhams Motorcycles Announces Motorcycles Online – The Spring Sale

Bonhams has announced Motorcycles Online – The Spring Sale, a timed online auction running from February 13 to February 23, 2026. The sale features a wide-ranging catalogue of machines spanning more than a century of motorcycling history, from Veteran-era projects to modern limited-edition superbikes.

Bidding opens at 12 noon on Friday, February 13 and lots close sequentially from 12 noon on Monday, February 23. A public viewing by appointment will take place on Wednesday, February 18 at Bonhams’ dedicated motorcycle facility in Milton Keynes.

Auction Overview: From Vintage Racers to Modern Classics

The sale includes landmark British, Italian, Japanese and American motorcycles, along with racing machines, restoration projects and collector examples with low recorded mileage.

Among the highlights:

  • 1972 MV Agusta 750S – Ex–Michel Noël “Mavro” Mavrogordato, supplied by Gus Kuhn, showing 477 miles recorded.
  • c.1954/1960 Norton 350cc Manx ‘Outside-Flywheel’ Racing Motorcycle – Believed to feature Doug Hele experimental engine work, family-owned for over 30 years.
  • 1925 Henderson 1,300cc De Luxe Project – In single-family ownership since 1929.
  • 1959 AJS 349cc 7R – Matching numbers competition machine.
  • c.1976 Ducati 900SS – Approximately 200 miles since a ground-up restoration completed in 2024.
  • 1980 Laverda 981cc Jota ‘Liberator 120’ – Upgraded by Cropredy Motorcycles.

The catalogue also includes Bimota models such as a 1993 DB2 and a c.1999 DB4.

Japanese Superbikes and Limited Editions

Collectors of late-20th-century performance machines will find several notable entries:

  • 1998 Honda CB900RR ‘FireBlade’ 50th Anniversary Limited Edition – No.15, showing 952 miles.
  • 1998 Honda CBR600F 50th Anniversary Limited Edition – No.32, showing 964 miles.
  • 1992 Honda CBR900RR ‘FireBlade’ – Signed by Tadao Baba and Steve Plater.
  • 1980 Kawasaki Z1000H (H1) – One-year-only fuel-injected model.
  • 1980 Yamaha RD250LC ‘Pro-Am’ Racing Motorcycle – Campaigned in the 2015 Pro-Am series.

British Engineering and Historic Machines

The sale also features significant British motorcycles, including:

  • 1947 Vincent-HRD 998cc Series-B Rapide – Matching numbers example dispatched in May 1947.
  • 1968 Velocette 499cc Venom Thruxton – Two owners from new.
  • 1914 Premier 499cc Special – Eligible for the Sunbeam MCC London–Brighton Pioneer Run.
  • 1927 James 350cc Model 11 Sports – In single ownership since 1964.
