Sammy Miller MBE has been named one of the first four inductees into the newly established FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) Hall of Fame, officially recognised on 6th December in Lausanne, Switzerland, in honour of his exceptional lifetime contribution to motorcycling.

On Saturday morning, after a walk to the lakeside, Sammy and Sharon (Museum and Events manager) attended rehearsals at the Swiss Convention Centre ahead of the evening’s ceremony. They later visited the FIM Headquarters in Mies for a light lunch and the official opening of the FIM’s new motorcycle museum — a venue dedicated to the rich global history of motorcycling. Although the FIM has long been based in Switzerland, this is the first year the annual celebration of motorcycle sport has been held there.
This is also the first time in history that the FIM has created a Hall of Fame. As part of the inaugural induction, Sammy and the other honourees were invited to make handprints, which will be cast in stone and permanently displayed outside the new FIM Museum building.

In the evening, Sammy returned to the Swiss Convention Centre, where he had the honour of presenting medals to all the Trials champions, followed by a gala dinner.

During the event, Sammy was delighted to reconnect with friends and motorcycling icons including Giacomo Agostini, Marc Márquez, and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu.

The ceremony, supported by Canton de Vaud, the City of Lausanne, and Swiss Moto (the Swiss Motorcycle Federation), took place in the state-of-the-art Swiss Tech Convention Centre — a modern venue with a focus on sustainability, reflecting the fast-moving, forward-looking world of international motorcycle sport.
Sammy was also proud to see his legendary 1947 AJS Porcupine displayed prominently at the entrance to the FIM Museum Complex.
