The smaller capacity bikes are seldom seen at Scottish runs and rallies with most entrants taking part on machines of 350cc and upwards. The Scottish end of the VMCC aims to start a new trend with a joint venture between the club’s Stirling Castle and Clyde Valley Sections organising a run starting from the Woodside Hotel in Doune, near Stirling, on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
The new TT is all about getting riders out on machines well matched in terms of performance, riding safely and confident in the knowledge that they will not get left behind. The route is 44 miles in length of mostly flat roads taking in the Carse of Stirling, Fintry and the Lake of Menteith.
A large number of entries are already in and on the day we are expecting to see a clutch of Bantams, some James, a New Hudson Autocycle, some Francis-Barnetts, MZs, a Norman and even an NSU Quickly and a BSA Winged Wheel and quite a few Japanese lightweights.
The Scottish TT will be a light hearted affair and is guaranteed to be a lot of fun. Initial enquiries to Don Riley on 01698 854390 or to Jim Leddy: firstname.lastname@example.org
Non-members of the VMCC are welcome to take part using a day membership arrangement with the club.
