Dear CR
Regarding the story in part one of the formation of the CRMC on page 77 of the November/December edition of Classic Racer and the photographs on page 79 – the guy in all black leathers in the photos is John Bowman (not Bill Bowman), a well known racer who hailed from Framlingham in Suffolk.

In the early 1960s John, sponsored by Pat Keeble of Theberton, Suffolk, rode factory supported Triumph Bonnevilles to great success.

He retired in late 1963 to concentrate on work and family but returned in 1975 to race a home brewed Triumph Trident (not a Rocket 3 as stated).

A great friend, who I exchanged paint with on many occasions, John sadly lost his life in a work related accident in 2011.

Thank you for the correction Malc, it’s appreciated.
